The Master of my fate, the Captain of my soul.

My first real post is a poem that I really like. I watched the movie Invictus
and Nelson Mandela talks about it in the movie, its a very powerful poem. To me the
message is that no matter how dark the night, you are in control of yourself. It says to me
that you should never let the dark cloud your strength, you are stronger than you think
and are capable of making the right choice in the face of adversity. Do not let someone
confuse your mind, cloud your spirit, or convince you that you are nothing. The night
ends to the morning sun.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
